Wichita, Kansas – Best overall access, especially for specialty care
Fargo, North Dakota – High-quality care across categories
Amarillo, Texas – Strong in both primary and mental health services
Altoona & Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania – Both ranked among the top five cities overall
Charleston, South Carolina – Leading in primary care access
Wilmington, Delaware – Best for mental health service availability
Asheville, North Carolina – Noted for hospital care quality
Interestingly, only five of the nation’s 100 largest cities made it into the top 20 — highlighting the important role of smaller and mid-sized communities in delivering strong veteran healthcare support.
